Tuff Cages are our answer to residential units. Uses 1” Metal tubing with 16ga diamond mesh. A little less rugged, and good for those less traveled areas. The Ultimate Tuff Cage is used for Commercial applications, and high traffic areas. These cages are sold by measurements since what is inside matters for space. These are also used for Gas valves, electric boxes, etc., anything anyone wants to protect from theft and vandals.

DRY INSTALL DIRECTIONS USING OUR HEAVY DUTY HARDWARE PINS

This method is used when there is a cement slab already in place.

Typically used with our standard cages, UTC -.05 – UTC-3.3 and TC-.05-TC-3.3 Cages.

Place your cage over the equipment you will be securing. Locate the hole in the Cage Lock box, 2 pins for lift-off units, and mark thru the hole where you will want to place the 2 piece Dry Install pin (s). Remove cage and where you put a mark, Drill 5/8” hole in the correct center line to the holes on the bottom of the cage.

Insert lower anchor piece into drilled holes. (Dry install pins come in 2 pieces, top screws off) We recommend putting epoxy into the hole before you place the bottom part of the locking pin. Use center punch and hit with hammer to lock anchors into place. Then screw in the top locking pin into the correct position. (When you set the cage on pin, you should see the hole in Locking pin.) Now place the cage unit onto the top of the Heavy Duty Locking Pins and place your locks through the hole in the heavy duty locking pin.

WET INSTALL DIRECTIONS

Prepare grade around backflow assembly construction. Set up form around established backflow assembly, tape expansion foam or tape around pipes. After you mix and pour concrete into your form, level concrete, put Heavy Duty Locking Pins into white template, if appropriate, cages with hinges will not include a template, please place hinged cage close to one of the backflow pipes to ensure there is enough radius clearance to allow cage to be opened. Hole in pin must be facing out. For lift off cages make sure hole in Heavy Duty Locking Pins is facing the black dot on white template. (Pins should be inserted into wet cement to insure proper installation placement.) Work bottom of Heavy Duty Locking Pins (while in template) into wet concrete. When set, level cage in concrete, carefully remove white template.**

When concrete is fairly firm, place the cage onto the top of the Heavy Duty Locking Pins and place your locks through the hole in the heavy duty locking pin.

**PLEASE NOTE: After removing white template, please check how the cage sets on the pins, a slight adjustment may be needed to be made.
